I did not see any indication whether purchases by director were option exercise related or not. Besides if they go down would not be the first time the director goes down with the co. Al Chainsaw comes to mind... plenty of other examples.

OFF THREAD :

If you like Senior Officers putting their money where their mouth is, take a look at MM, in which case a recent major acquisition by the insider did seem to spark some turnaround.

$5 and under - take a look at SSNC, a major Y2K victim, but yesterday's 140% NEGATIVE earnings surprise did not take it to the new 52week low. When the market shrugs off bad news of this magnitude with such ease, the stock may be close to a bottom. SSNC's maintenance and outsourcing divisions keep growing at a good pace, Y2K problems will go away and the licensing revenue should return to normal levels. There was no indication that they lost licensing revenue to switching clients, just order delays, their client list actually grew by addition of some major clients and partners (Fujitsu in Japan was the latest - see SSNC PR on that). There still would be some tax and window dressing selling for another month or two, and licensing revenue may take 2-3 quarters to pick up, but SSNC should be able to climb back to $6-8 range by the end of next year if not sooner.
