Michael, re: "I'm embarrassed to be working here today"
I'm more than a little shocked by your post. A few points:
- HP screwed up with the way they handled this information. - HP has traditionally been one of the best companies to work for; one of the most innovative; a brand known for quality. - I've never invested in a company, or worked for a company, that didn't make mistakes, unless they were not trying.
As an investor (owner) of the company, my hope is the criticism on a public forum will make it's way to the appropriate people responsible for the decisions that were made over the last 48 hours. I think YOU might be better off forwarding these posts to investor relations, with your personal opinions.
As an aside, my largest holding is Intel. They are often criticized for their lack of feedback to the analysts, for being anal retentive in the specificity of their statements. In the long run, I prefer their approach.
Bottom line, you work for one of the best companies in the US. You should try to change it for the better, not criticize it in public. If you retain your job, I will be even more impressed with HP.
