<"So, your standards have become so low that you use the pathetic execution on Athlon to benchmark CuMine execution."
I think it's a reasonable starting point - don't you ?>

No, I don't - unless one is comparing how badly a company is doing its launch.

<Actually, the original Celeron was MUCH worse !

Not only was availability "low", there were only a few "token" OEMS (GOD BLESS every Loyal One of them !) that signed up for that chip.

And where is the current Celeron ?>

Wasn't Covington launched in Q2 98? If my memory serves me right, the K6 family has gained a full 10 points in market share since then. I will be glad if AMD takes 10 more points, thank you.

<Intel's Celeron is in 60% of every RETAIL PC today - and INCREASING MARKET SHARE as we type !>

I am not sure if Celeron is increasing market share as we type - judging by the number of ads pushing K6s recently, K6-market share in the desktop market is probably on the uptick. I am sure we will find out in a month or two.

<That's what's known as a come-from-behind victory. The great ones are noted for that - Marino, Elway, Montana, Fahvre and now Intel !>

Intel is good company but is paying as a result of the management taking its eye off the ball - it will lose a few more battles before it wins again. It is a question of how many points of market share AMD will gain before Intel gets its house in order. Marino, Elway, Montana, Fahvre have all had their losses too.
