That is an interesting thought. What did Intel do when they had the FDIV problem shoved down their throat? I think that when they finally admitted that they had a problem, they owned up to it, but I don't remember that they told everybody exactly what had gone wrong. Instead, they simply fixed it. There are a number of good reasons for doing this. Perhaps there is some intellectual property at stake. Why take the chance of a public disclosure that could get them in trouble with Rambus, or could prevent them from patenting something later on?

I think it's just a matter of "need to know." They don't think you need to know. But I wouldn't worry about that as far as evidence that something is gone wrong. When they are sure they've fixed it, they will probably announce a launch date.
