Hey Dipy:
You told us once that you enjoy "Lewis and Clark". Guess what? You may not believe it. Forget Susan B. Anthony, the ugly woman on the face of the dollar coin, which people mistook for a quarter. Enter ELEGANT SACAGAWEA. She will adorn the face of the new dollar coin. How about it? The coin is gold in color; there are no reeds on the edges . You can fish it out of your pocket by feel OR flip it by sight. The vending machines, the tollbooths, coin analyzers and people will love the face of Sacagawea, the 14 year old American Indian girl, who could tell the difference between an edible root and a fibrous root. Her laughs, her presence and her infant made the team joyous. The woman with the infant in the team projected an image of friendliness to the encountered American Indians on their journey west. Just a humorous note: The Indians tried to rub the black off the skin of YORK, an Afro-American member of the team.( While you were in India, did you try to rub the brown off the skin of the East Indians? Just a thought.) Russell was provided honorific conjugal services by hosting American Indians. That is something. Ain't it? He had a gun, brought meat to the team, & was a logistics man. What is the name your dog ? Leme guess - SEAMAN. BTW, just like the Lewis and Clark team rediscovered the west, you think the American are going EAST to discover new trading routes and trails. No wonder you said that Indians should listen to Americans in the same spirit and language of Lewis and Clark.. L&C told American Indians that there is a big white father , Jefferson, that they should listen to. L&C team showed off their new technology to Indians bystaging TRAVELING MEDICINE SHOWS- technology demos - Guns, uniforms etc. The present day Americans are put up Travelling Medicine Shows to Indians now. What is the equivalent of the PEACE MEDAL in this American adventure in India? Technology and SACAGAWEA COIN. How are the Americans going to adjust to the cultural divide. If Indians accept the PEACE MEDAL, is it a gift or treatment as equals or both?
Just imagine you were in that team, Who would you be? Lewis or Clark. Lewis I suppose. |
