(OT)Gemmers: I always thought the market opened at 9:30 when some chap was given the honor of banging down the gavel. Seems it ain't true. Placed a limit order to sell some LWIN at 9:21 yesterday above the market, thinking I'll let some go on a pop up. Change my mind when I see the indications are moving higher. Go to cancel the order ar 9:27. But I can't cancel because the stock, now bid 36 has been sold at my limit of 35 5/8. And the market is 3 minutes from opening. Stock opens at 36, trades at 35 15/16 (which turns out to be the LOW for the day). Call my broker (name begins with a "D") "Sorry, you sold it at 35 5/8" I'm told. "But it opened at 36 and the low was 35 15/16. So how did I get a price below the low. And why was it sold pre-market preventing me from cancelling my order?" I ask. We go round and round for 20 minutes. I wanna talk to the supervisor. Same response. Now this isn't finished, but beware Gemmers, this happened to me and could happen to you. I'll post the resolution when I have it. (Lee)
