Actually over the years I have traded CDN probably 10 times, always on the long side, and I have a net profit so far. I have never worked there, nor have I ever known anyone who has worked there. My negative comments do not come from any grudge against the company, but from watching their behavior over the years. I must say that I have always taken their side, and viewed them as the gorilla of the industry, but the the longer I watch the more I get an inkling of why some insiders might have wanted to split off to form AVNT.

I also note that now that SNPS has passed them in revenue they can no longer be considered the gorilla of the industry. Yes, I suspect that the different methods of recognizing revenue play a part. I suspect that SNPS has been bigger than CDN for awhile, but the "aggressive" method of revenue recognition favored by CDN distorted the revenue picture to make CDN look larger, and now we are beginning to get a true picture of relative market share.

I hold no position at this time, no do I have any inclination to do so at this time. I will admit however that I am seriously considering taking a position in AVNT.
