Timoteo! How ya' doing, buddy? Long time no type. My "day job" limits my posting.

This DOJ decision caught me by surprise. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I'm unhappy it happened. It really hurt many of the current Viasoft employees who (rumor has it) had been promised a bonus to remain with the company following the acquisition. It also negatively affected some of the former employees who still had stock left over from their Employee Stock Purchase Plan. And, of course, it affected "entrepreneurs" like you and me who bought at $8.25 to $8.50 with the intention of picking up a quick fifty cents.

A few of my old Viasoft buddies blamed the whole thing on me, because SmartTest was my baby. I blame it all on my staff and associates, because they made it the best tester/debugger in the business IN SPITE of me!

I have some opinions on what might happen next, and thoughts on other suitors ... but as CEO of a company in the software sector (my "day job"), I think I'd better keep those ideas to myself.

The good news is ... it's only money!

Take care,
