New Home Sales for Sept. = -12.8% to 811k

Sales of new one-family houses in September 1999 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 811,000 according to estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 13 (+/-9) percent below the revised August rate of 930,000 and 6 (+/-10) percent below the September 1998 rate of 861,000.

Chicago PMI = 58.8%
