Thats exactly the point CPQ and Dell sell tried and trusted products and they sell them like HotCakes. No one wants to take a chance with
new Technology and lose their job. Rememeber the old saying no one
ever got fired Specifying IBM. Even MIcrosoft's Win 95 took time to
catch on with the corporate market. But still Win 3.11 has a large
installed base.

So the Java Market is not going to takeoff like gang busters. No one
is even selling NC yet. So there will be little if any profits from
Java in the Near term.

>Take DELL and Compaq as examples they have no new innovations however healthy profits and lots of cash on hand. Same thing with Microsoft. Apple has plenty of new innovations, however little cash plus poor sales puts it in the price range it is right now.
