"And yet, that is clearly required in order to evaluate the latest move from HLIT in its disembowelment of CUBE."

Ray,
This, IMHO, happens to be an excellent positioning move on the part of Harmonic Lightwaves. I happen to be a CUBE shareholder for the last year or so. And I was a HLIT shareholder but sold out my position when the stock hit 4(!) and I panicked. Basically, CUBE has moved nicely into the broadband space and HLIT has always been there.

Apparently (I'm afraid to say I haven't followed as close as I should), CUBE has the customers HLIT wants. And HLIT has the products that make a very good match to CUBE's (Divicom really) products. HLIT pumps the data down the pipe, but not before CUBE massages it. A good fit as analysts are spewing out in mass.

IMHO, as HLIT goes after cableco, telco, wireless, and satellite broadband spending plans, they are putting themselves in a very nice position with the CUBE acquisition.

If you have one, what is your opinion of the deal? I would be interested in hearing it. Anyone else on the Last Mile have an opinion?
