Knowing that Jesus is your personal Saviour = fruit of the Holy Spirit
RE>>you take many verses out of context. <<
I disagree. :-}
However I would say that The Lord did put to my mind this morning when I awoke that I did not explain properly why a verse that someone quoted me was not relevant. I can't remember who quoted it but it may even have been you ....
Concerning the heresy that God loves everyone and fails to save some.
I was quoted this verse :
Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
God showed me that someone quoted this and was trying to prove that it is the "saved ones efforts" who 'washed their own robe' and that the blood is offered to all. They meant to prove that it was man's choice and effort that made the difference between the clean and the unclean.
However this has nothing to do with Salvation but rather Sanctification and can only apply to the saved.
Look at these verses Nancy :
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Verse 1 : Teaches that there is a difference between US and the world. We are "the called according to His purpose" That difference was there because God called US the sons of God.... the world you are the unsaved knew him not. Now the point that Jesus and I keep trying to get people to see is that IF you are enjoying Salvation it is NOT because you are better in any way within yourself in the Old Man who was dead !! We Love HIM because He first LOVED US. The world CAN NOT KNOW HIM because He does not love the World as it is written :
John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
If Jesus loves the whole world could He not have prayed for them ??
If Jesus would have prayed for the whole world then the whole world would have been saved He prays according to the will of the Father which is to save the ones whom God "hast given me; for they are thine."
Verse 3. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
How do men "purify themselves" does this happen without Jesus after men carnally find out He exists ?? Is it the Work of the HOLY SPIRIT or the work of the man...
Hebrews 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I do not say that we do not work... I do say that no work we do causes Salvation. THIS IS BASIC The works that we do God has ordained that we should walk in them and it is His strength and spirit within us that work those works "within us"
Abel= trusted in God's Work Cain = trusted in his own sacrifice
Cain tried very hard to please God But fail and why ?
Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Believing that the "sacrifice" of ACCEPTING JESUS is what make the difference between Cain and Abel is CRAZY... They both believed .. they both offered with sincerity in their hearts.. Cain's sacrifice was much more WORK .... Yet Cain was not of the FATHER but rather :
1 John 3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one,,/B> and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous
Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Cain was in the Flesh and offered the "WORKS" of the flesh. Abel was in the Spirit and showed the Lord's death till he came. As we do NOW : 1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Nancy ( if it was indeed you I do not know ) quoting this verse in Rev. does not prove that men are Chosen according to their work and effort. Nor because they were in themselves wiser than their unsaved neighbour. Nor because there was some better moral fiber within..As it is written :
John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Cain believed and was religious...
Accepting Jesus as Personal Saviour = will of the flesh,
