The VRD on the other hand can paint with a brush, I.e multiple lines at once. This allows an increase in the resolution without pushing the mechanical limits of the scanner. The BCBL (Battle Control, Battle Lab) display scans 5 lines at once. The picture is incredible.

Thanks Mark. That would mitigate any concerns I may have had about eye fatigue. I raised this because I know everyone has a difference tolerance for "flashing" or scan frequency. My eyes (and brain) become very fatigued from a CRT at 60Hz, 65Hz is a noticeable improvement and 70Hz is still not ideal. For this reason I have given up CRT's in favor of LCD's although I am aware of CRT's available now that do not cause me trouble.
