I agree with you - but (and I'm no techie so bear with me) the guy from whom I received my information claims that HLIT's technology is able to split the the light spectrum into 200 times more individual waves than LU's or Ciena's. And, he claims, they have a technology that is able to cut way down on the amount of "light diffusion" caused by water molecules. I don't claim to understand on a wholesale level what I just wrote but, let's just say that HLIT is ahead of LU, Ciena, NT, and Pirelli - way ahead - and hence HLIT's valuation. This guy claims LU WILL buy them out. Apparently, AT&T LOVES and INSISTS upon HLIT's products.

It should be stated, this guy thought HLIT "stole" Divicom and that Divicom's technology and algorithms were essential to HLIT for a much more comprehensive and attractive product line.
