Kash,

<At the 3q conference call AMD was very conservative due to MB and chipset concerns over Q4.

They stated they would have much more visibility in there analyst meeting in November.

I imagine it should be within next 2 weeks or we run into Comdex.

With Intel basically sold out and unable to flood the market with high speed cumines, the scenario should be as good as it can get for a significant upside move.

Seems like a good time to buy Nov 20 calls - they are less than a $1 right now. Or to write some puts for the more conservative among us.

I'm buying calls as we speak.

Welcome inputs from the thread.>

Very astute observation.

Yesterday's call has confirmed my assumption that there will not be too many CuMines for Q3 (3Mu is not much especially if distributed among 15 or so speed/package options). So we know for certain there will be enough demand for AMD at the high end. But, as usual, I have concerns about the near term execution.

I have been selling puts more aggressively of late for the same reason.

Chuck
