<With only two OEM's using that chip - in retail PCs ?>

Huh? Counting problem? Sounds like at least 3 to me: CPQ, IBM, NEC

<With Coppermine already shipping, and 2 Meg on-chip L2 cache Cascades due in early 2000, ITANIUM and Willamette due in mid to late 2000, who do you think is going to be putting their eggs in the AMD "high end" basket ?>

The other way to look at this would be: With CuMine showing it is second place unless one compares non-existant products/platforms, Merced being a non-issue on the desktop, Wilamtte being just a prayer, which OEMs would be putting all their eggs in the INTC "high end" basket?

I am sure at least a few OEMs have learnt that trusting Intel on unreleased products can be hazardous to their financial health.

<Just how much allowance money do those "gamers" have to spend on supercooled AthWIPES ?>

So far, it is more than what they are plunking in to CuMines.
