Very well said, Karen. Just because someone doesn't have a month's worth of canned goods and water doesn't mean that they don't have a "Plan B" if problems occur. I remember that you had posted an article some time ago about how our preparations for Y2K essentially are a reflection of our approach to the world...my risk profile is "averse."

And, if I dare say so, your "Plan B" (or is it "C"?) is not bad at all...toasty wood stove, lots of paper plates for serving mango pickle, a little bad music, lots of nice company, and an abundance of fine poetry :)
