Skipper, you wrote, "The bible reflects what others
have thought about God," This sounds like you think the author of the Bible was just mere people. It was Godly people who recorded the Bible, but it has God as it's author, that's the reason it is called God's Word.

"(2 Tim 3:16 NIV) "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"
(2 Tim 3:17 NIV) "so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
