Hello people, I'd like some advice if any of you have the
time. I'm thinking of selling my CMGI and using the dough
to buy more Softbank at current prices. My reasons:
1. Against CMGI. Wetherell got in early but that is history.
What is he doing lately? It looks like a bunch of number 2
or number 3 ranking companies, and their relationships don't
seem that important. Particularly they don't look too competitive with DCLK in the web advert field.
2. For 9984. Son really has a global outlook, not just one
collaboration in HongKong. Also I am intrigued by the sheer
number of his enterprises springing up in Japan, where the
internet is still in its infancy. Particularly the deal with
Microsoft and Tokyo Electric Power is exciting. After that
is operating and profitable all the other electric power
companies will rush to take part. Like Paris in France, in
Japan Tokyo has great prestige. Most everybody wants to do
it the way they do it in Tokyo.
I am also angry at CMGI who shut out non-U.S. residents
from their directed share purchase plan, with a totally
incorrect claim that the U.S. government forbids them to
sell IPO shares outside of the U.S.
Finally most people who have looked at it say that CMGI sells for a considerably higher ratio to its underlying assets than Softbank. That's because it trades in the U.S.
But value will out, sooner or later.
Any opinion? Thanks in advance.
