Voltaire: Is a 20 pt correction reason to trigger such a massive capital gain? QCOM will get the split sooner or later. Since QCOM has already indicated a split is not possible till February, the only announcement that may be possible would be the board approval of such a measure pending shareholder approval.

With the new price targets being presented by Smith Barney and Goldman Sachs, I am in no rush to worry about a near term split. In fact, I think the delay of the split is increasing the odds that a 3 to 1 split will be in order as the stock price nears 300 after the December quarter.

Personally, I just can't fathom QCOM trading at below 50 times next years new PE of $4.50 that was put out by SB and GS. That would put the floor on QCOM's stock price closer to $225 than $200.

All the best!!
