No, Intel is desperately trying to keep the competition off the field, since it knows it cannot win. If rambus were any good, this ridiculous lawsuit wouldn't be necessary.

Remember that Intel has been happy to have VIA sell chipsets for the P6 bus for years - including chipsets that allowed running the bus at 133MHZ and higher. Suddenly it's become an issue now that Intel can't let the poor performance of rambus face any competition.

Do you need any clearer signal that Intel has realized that Rambus performance is so poor that it is unmarketable?

It won't work - look at the Intergraph lawsuit against Intel and Intel's various lawsuits against AMD.
