Just got back from Calif which included attending the meeting.
Here is my quick synopsis of the meeting. Rick will probably have a more informative report.

Randy gave a few main statements and then turned the meeting over to the four new division heads. The division managers gave talks with operational charts as to how they functioned.

The four divisions are the Bio Imaging (Mace), Access Control (?), I T (Grant Evans) and Anadac (?).
Bio Imaging by Mace basically stated the new smaller ten printer is being well received in the industry.
Access by ? a new man that use to work for Recognition systems and came to IDX because he knew the IDT/IDX merger would be a real winner and he wanted on the right side of the show.
Anadac by ? the new President of Anadac who was appointed just recently. The main thrust from him was that they own the Navy. However, they were making a concerted effort to get into all departments of the Government with products, services and what have you.
I T by Evans explained that a few years ago IDX was a hardware Manufacturer and today they are both hardware and software. They don't mind that Siemens uses a different reader. IDX has the software He mentioned that if IDX can get 1% of the new PC market each year that it would result into $500 mil for the company. (I think I got that right.)
The word we picked up was wait till NOV 16. We understand one thing is Mot displays their new equipment. IDX is also planning to run some advt which will be a first.

They had all the new equipment on display in the back of the room including the mug shot and data machine and the Cherry board which uses a card and a print reader.

It was a good informative dog and pony show, which basically only allowed about 5 questions to be answered after the presentations. It was a good idea as there was no reason to hash over all the problems that we all knew were there. Last but not least Evans and others indicated that the Y2K frenzy is hurting sales, as most companies want to wait and see how they will fair Jan 1st. You got the feeling that IDX felt Y2K was being overdone.

The other thing that was important to me was the relationship between IDT/IDX employees. I been involved in companies where one division will withhold information on purpose to screw the other division. Their comments were that within a month information was flowing between both R&D departments which literally allowed both companies to leap ahead dramatically. The costs on the hardware are now low enough to allow biometrics to be commercially acceptable.

Over all -- very informative. Glad I went again. The reorganization appears to be correct. The new Access man and the new Anadac President seem to be balls of fire. Grant Evans has a very good delivery and a good background including calling on Msft. He is a tremendous asset to IDX. Oh! for you girls on the thread. I heard one lady say Boy! is he good looking!!!
