That is why a mania like 1920-33 only occurs once in a lifetime. The participants are scarred for life from taking extra risks. They in turn pass much of that fear onto their children.

By the 3rd generation, it is ancient history- something that only happens in history books and fairy tales. Nearly all of the original scarred participants are dead or senile. The second generation has never experienced the event, therefore they are somewhat complacent. The 3rd generation has absolutely no fear and are in the most danger.
