FVCX & ntwking in general: IP vs ATM. A common misunderstanding ---> IP is used in 2 different contexts: 1) an addressing protocol 2) a transmission protocol There is a general argument/misconception out there that IP is better than ATM. It's a half truth - IP is definitely the addressing protocol of choice, but is not so as a transmission method -- ATM is still better in the transmission world, and is not applicable to the addressing world.
