It may be sarcastic, but I think it's more likely ironic. It is definitely Biblically accurate.

Thanks for the history lesson. But why split hairs? I think we are in agreement about the eventual fate of the Native Americans at the hands of the Christian hordes that flocked to the New World (especially in North America). You bring up the Inquisition and think I'm trying to anger you? I think you've outdone me when it comes to bringing up cruel acts that have been done in the name of Jesus.

Isn't considering oneself to be above all others what the Bible is all about (no sarcasm intended here)?
