The treatment of Rose and McLain is certainly inconsistent. McLain was a bad apple. When he left baseball in the early 70's he was hanging out with real mob types. I think he was arrested for a weapons violation and spent time in prison. Rose is just a big over grown kid. He's been banned for ten years now, it seems justice has been done. You're right, it's terrible PR. Part of the reason baseball is now the #3 game in the country is the boneheads at the top.

I like your idea about having salaries based on gross profits and the team's performance. It's pretty irritating seeing a multi-millionaire athlete in prime condition dogging it out there!
