Goutama - Re: "I could be wrong here, but I think this comment in the article you posted was about Dresden 250nm. My post was about Dresden 150nm."

Whatever the reason - and conversion to 180 nM/Copper - was certainly a reason - Dresden has CONTINUALLY slipped.

Just this past April, Sanders told all the Shareholders that Dresden would BEGIN K7 production on 0.18 ,micron/Copper process in Q399 - Here's the section from that speech:

1999 Annual Shareholders' Meeting
New York, New York
April 29, 1999

Meanwhile we must bring a new megafab in Dresden - Fab 30 - on line to build the most sophisticated product in our history employing the most advanced technology we have ever developed. We plan to commence the migration of AMD K-7 production to Fab 30, employing 180-nanometer technology with copper interconnects, next quarter. We believe this technology will enable production versions of the AMD K-7 running at clock speeds of one gigahertz or more by the end of next year.

{===================================}

Late is late - no matter what the reason.

Would you praise Intel for delaying the i820 Camino because they decided to offer a 2 RIMM version instead of a 3 RIMM version ?

Of COURSE NOT ! And I wouldn't either !
