Paul, thanks for clear description of Intel's AnyPOINT adapter. I had read a few articles about it and thought at the time it seemed more targeted toward the business side of consumers. Looks like my impression wasn't entirely correct. $180.00 is ridiculous though! The industry still needs a cheaper, simpler solution. I am guessing the adapter comes with some type of software to learn and manipulate, in order to get the two computers talking to eachother prior to the transfer? Sounds like it's tailored made for people who have more than one computer on the net in different locations around the home. Or people who travel a lot and want a file from their home base. I Don't believe we have reached the "inflection point" yet with consumers there. But it's definitely a growing market segment.

Something that strikes me whenever I hear "Network adapter" is Windows NT, and the sight of confused, sweating LAN workers racing around fixing technical problems! :-)

Middle America is still not that tech-savy. Silicon Valley maybe, Poulsbo, Wa. Definitely not. Shoot, I still can't get some of my friends to figure out how to use Netmeeting!

Best, Michael
