Aptech Q3 net jumps 61%

Revenue has gone up 36.66 per cent to Rs 126.03 crore ($29 mil) over the corresponding last year figures. Aptech said profits were higher despite providing for a higher depreciation at Rs 5.45 crore and tax provision of Rs 3.50 crore. Software revenues in the third quarter have recorded a 78.43 per cent growth. Education and training revenues registered an increase of 31.84 per cent.

Aptech's global training network grew to 1,284 centres spread across India, Middle and Far East, USA, eastern Europe, SAARC and Africa. The international training division has till date signed up 55 centres spread across 28 countries.

The international training revenues have leapfrogged by 110 per cent over the same period last year.

The 400-people strong Aptech software division currently headquartered in India is represented through its eight marketing offices covering US, UK, Singapore, Dubai, Australia and Switzerland. This division recently inaugurated its new 18,000 sq. ft offshore software development facility located at SEEPZ, Mumbai.

The SEEPZ facility is its third in India after Bangalore and Andheri in Mumbai and is currently undertaking execution of four offshore contracts for global corporations. (10/30/99-ET)
