It is interesting that many feel that funds hold IPO's for a significant period of time.
"GS would not issue an upgrade until funds finish selling."
I am sure some will, but I would be willing to bet that most 95% of funds flip the shares the first day, especially if it opens and trades significantly higher on the first day. I have had discussions with fund managers and the game to them is flipping the first day or so. Why invest in anything else when you can make 50% to 500% the first day depending on the IPO. Those are significant gains on a couple of millions of shares!

I doubt that any fund held any of the shares for much longer than the first day or two.
