Skipper--I will propose a simple task to help you verify that
the Gospels are indeed God's Word.

You seem to be an intelligent man with above average writing skills.
I propose that you put the Gospels and Jesus's Words to the test.

Jesus spoke His Words under very stressful conditions. Many times
he spoke the Words recoded in the Scriptures while pressed by huge crowds
of people. It is very difficult to keep ones presence of mind and
creative spirit in this type of atmosphere. Notwithstanding this atmosphere,
the Words of Jesus are timeless and profound truths about the human condition
that speak to all cultures, all social groups and all ethnic groups.
No mere human being has the intellectual capacity or wisdom to proudce
such words.

Here's the test: Isolate yourself in atmosphere of quietness and peace
and, as a mere human, attempt to produce ONLY ONE PAGE of such timeless
words. If you try this test in sincerity, I believe the obvious will
emerge. You could even share your eternal and timeless wisdom with us.
Terrence is a pretty bright fellow. You could recruit him for this exercise.

The divinty of Christs' Words will shine brightly against any mere
human effort.
