The only other solution would be with the power iNTEL wields, iNTEL could easily have US Customs agents stopping any shipments of non-iNTEL CPU mobos from coming into the country.

By wrapping them in plain white boxes, the agents would look at the socket and not readily tell if it was for an iNTEL or Athlon CPU.

Maybe the "certain" chipset shortage is how iNTEL is going make the earnings for this quarter. The ASP must be increasing on them.

There's an idea!
"Hey iNTEL: Why don't you double the price on a 440BX chipset?"
