Well, JAck, if I had a good sized PC or LAN here at home I would opt to take a handheld along, especially if I could access any info I needed via the web from my home based PC or LAN. WHo needs a plug in the back of the PC then--- one stays pretty current just tying in over the web, up- and downloading from wherever one happened to be, pulling up all email, voice, fax, etc., while on the road, making decisions, acting as if one has never left the SOHO.
If this is the direction it's all moving toward (likely) and if CPQ has one or more solid entries (Areo plus a tobe announced applicance) then maybe it can pull up the Commericial PC Group in this manner. Which other computer company will actively compete in this way?
And I agree re laptop inconvenience... what started as a tolerable 7# Armada 1540 two years ago has become almost an albatross... if I weren't addicted to email and checking CPQ's price on the road it would stay here. Besides, its CD ROM has mysteriously quit working...
