At the risk of beating a dead horse, I would only say that organizations such as Intel are forever enhancing their capacity to influence the last costumer. And no organization can determine with precision the finishing line of its potential customers, or whom the organization will exert an influence over. Intel is truly a boundaryless corporation.

After giving it some thought, I believe you're right though, AnyPOINT sounds like a reasonable solution to the hardrive transfer problem. (Especially, if it's as easy as you say to use) Perhaps with volume the price will come down enough for those once every 3 year upgrade customers to give it a shot.

Influencing an entire industry to standardize a simple cheap solution, can often times be an extremely difficult undertaking.
