Concur Provides Expanded Supplier Content to Customers
Contact East, Harbinger, Newark Electronics, Office Depot Join with Concur for Expanded Corporate Procurement Services
REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1999-- Concur Technologies (Nasdaq:CNQR - news), a leading provider of workplace eCommerce solutions, announced today that Contact East, Inc., Harbinger Corporation (Nasdaq:HRBC - news), Newark Electronics, part of Premier Farnell plc (NYSE:PFP - news), and Office Depot (NYSE:ODP - news) have joined with Concur to bring goods and services to companies through Concur Procurement(TM).

Concur Procurement, the business-to-business eCommerce solution within the Concur eWorkplace(TM) business portal, gives corporations access to expansive catalog content by electronically connecting buyers to suppliers safely and securely over the Internet.

The open architecture of Concur Procurement enables any supplier to easily integrate catalog content into the product, allowing organizations to benefit from a vast offering of products and business services available. Each supplier that has partnered with Concur supports the company's vision of providing workplace eCommerce solutions for improved employee productivity and bottom-line business benefits, and will work with Concur to integrate its offerings with Concur Procurement.

``The global demands of a technology driven society have influenced the creation of a new generation of business. At Newark, we look forward to working with Concur to enhance the communication and interaction between buyers and suppliers,' said Doug Witt, vice president Product and Marketing of Newark Electronics.

``Harbinger is committed to providing the on-line commerce market with world-class electronic commerce services,' said Tom Banta, vice president and general manager, Catalog Solutions Division at Harbinger. ``Joining with Concur will allow us to enhance value to our customers while supporting our effort to make electronic commerce pervasive.'

Using the Commerce On-Ramp functionality within Concur Procurement, users are able to go outside of Concur Procurement to shop catalogs directly on suppliers' Web sites and electronically transfer those selected items into Concur Procurement. In this way, companies can take advantage of Web-based purchasing while maintaining the control provided by automated workflow and approval. Concur Procurement makes it easier for buyers and suppliers to interact, and provides customers with smoother interaction with suppliers and real-time access to vendor catalog information.

``Office Depot and Concur share a commitment to develop and support the eCommerce initiatives of organizations that want to reduce the time and costs associated with ordering office supplies,' said Monica Luechtefeld, vice president, Marketing, of Office Depot's Business Services Division. ``By linking our catalog content into Concur's solutions, we can provide customers with their pricing, real time product availability, and a solution that manages workflow and simplifies the order and approval process.'

Concur's customers will benefit from the enhanced product offering within the Concur Procurement multi-supplier catalog, while its suppliers will gain access to the desktops Concur reaches. Concur Procurement streamlines the corporate purchasing process via the Web, enabling employees to easily order supplies and services while tracking the information and order status from their desktops.

``The procurement process is overdue for change. Electronic commerce solutions will streamline the process and dramatically reduce procurement costs. Production supplies and test equipment can be ordered more efficiently using a system like Concur Procurement,' said Madelyn Mitton, marketing director at Contact East. ``Integrating our products with Concur Procurement aids in meeting the demands of our customers for these eCommerce systems.'

``The support from our supplier partners is truly exciting and supports our goal of making it easy for buyers and suppliers to interact over the Web,' said Steve Singh, president and chief executive officer of Concur. ``Because we don't require our suppliers to invest in proprietary catalog formats or technology, our customers can get up and running quickly, for rapid time and cost savings.'
