From the business section of Telegraph Newspaper:

"ARM Holdings, the microchip designer, soared 216.5 to a record £17.28,helped by its £1.1m acquisition of computer development services group Micrologic Solutions. One dealer added: "ARM is one of the biggest stocks in the new TechMark index and fund managers are hoovering up some stock." TechMark is launched next week.
ARM, which is currently valued in the market at more than £3.2 billion, looks set to be a serious contender for the membership in the FTSE-100 index, which will be reviewed on December 7. A spokesman for FTSE International, which calculates and maintains the index, said: "To get into the FTSE-100, ARM would be competing with blue chips with a market capitalisation of about £3.3 billion, such as British Airways, Whitbread, and EMI.""
