Delgratia Confirms Accuracy of Assay Results Released April 10th
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Dr. Charles A. Ager, Chairman and President of Delgratia, confirms the Company's view that the assay results on Holes 5 and 4 of the Nevada Project reported in the Company's second news release on April 10th were performed in a thoroughly professional and competent manner and are accurate.
Delgratia wishes to report the statement of the independent engineers, Brian Mountford and Dr. Morris Beattie, following their review of the Bloomberg release of April 11th as follows:
"We have read the Bloomberg article dated April 11th, 1997 regarding the Josh Project under development by Delgratia. We would like to note that the article contains a number of severe distortions and misquotes of the conversations which took place.
With respect to the Delgratia news release of April 10th, 1997, we stand by our statement relative to the work being conducted on the project. The sample handling procedures which we observed at each step between drilling and analysis meet or exceed industry standards. We requested that samples be sent to independent laboratories and also selected samples at the assay lab which we had analyzed by a laboratory of our choice. Both these analyses confirmed the presence of gold in the samples. We have not to date analyzed samples which we obtained independently from the site. As part of our ongoing audit, we have been given full authority by Delgratia to conduct the necessary independent sampling and analysis to verify the concentration of gold in the rocks underlying the Josh project. This work will be conducted in a forensic manner over the next few weeks.
It should be noted that at this stage the project has no proven reserves and should only be considered as a very interesting exploration project."
Delgratia confirms that it had no knowledge of Mr. Robert H. Gunnison's legal history in 1978 until asked last evening for a comment by the Bloomberg reporter. That history does not change Delgratia's view of the professional procedures and methods used by Energy International lab in Phoenix to date. Delgratia's own review, based on the observations by its independent consulting engineers and by Delgratia's own Chief Assayer of that work and internal checks performed on Delgratia's behalf, including the assaying of test samples taken directly from the project site to the Jacobs Lab in Tucson, Arizona, supports the assay findings released on the Nevada Project to date.
As indicated in yesterday's news release, Delgratia has already retained and authorized the independent engineers, Mr. Brian Mountford and Dr. Morris Beattie, to conduct a thorough review of the Company's drilling procedures, sample collecting and assaying procedures and results to make recommendations based on such review. The results of this independent audit are expected to be available in a few weeks.
Delgratia believes that it has conducted all operations to date in a thoroughly professional manner consistent with the highest industry standards and that it has made all necessary disclosures in accordance with applicable laws.
"Delgratia is greatly encouraged by the results to date and looks forward to the continuation of the exploration effort as hithertofor envisioned" says Dr. Ager |
