I don't know if it was intended to be a scam or not, but basically he admitted he didn't disclose his financial interest in the company he picked as the supplier of the stuffed animals (to which everyone is donating).

It turns out he says he isn't the president of the company but he is rather evasive about saying how much influence he has in the company (he never replied to my question). but instead seems to say quite a lot that 'someone asked him to do ...' He did state he stands to gain quite a lot if everyone donates.

I just find it odd that he started this campaign and he happens to be the 'Administrative Contact & Billing Contact' for this company bearhonstok.com (via network solutions). Seems to me he was out trying to drum up some business for his company
