PW, a question to you and anyone else who knows: I have a Compaq with the single 4.2GB hard disk drive partitioned into a C: drive [about 3 GB] and a D: drive. I now strongly dislike this arrangement. The D: drive is supposed to be used for system backup. I do not wish to backup to the same disk.

Is it simple and safe to delete the D: drive and expand the
C: drive to occupy ALL disk space? If yes, how would I do
it?

I could use the restore CD and start from scratch, but it
does not give a choice. It would simply create C: and D:
drives again. I have thought of using the restore CD from
my eMachine on the Compaq, but the manual says it works
only on an eMachine.

This is not an urgent problem.
I would appreciate your thoughts.

Gottfried
