Bill,

Re: "I was mainly intending this concept for an incremental upgrade with
no halt in production in a fab where there is not enough space to install
a 12" without removing the 8" first."

This is very difficult to do because all new 12" equipment is needed (very
little 8" equipment can be converted), so you need room for about
40 - 50 additional pieces of equipment. The logistics of trying to
remove 8" and install 12" WITHOUT disrupting production is almost
impossible ... and ... usually the space that IS available is not
where you would like to place the equipment. It is much, much easier
to build a Fab for 12" specific processing.

Make It So,
Yousef
