Is anybody here aware (or concerned) that there are about 3 dozen products on the market that compete directly with Jacada for Java? I am a Java consultant, and have just begun evaluating different vendor's products for web-enabling legacy applications. Jacada, unlike some other vendors, would not send an "evaluation" copy so I could compare their product to others, but they did send a "demo" cd with a powerpoint presentation describing their product. (I was promised a call back from another company rep and have never been contacted.) I am not sore at the company, and in fact I was very excited when I heard about the IPO, because I thought here was a sleeper that could potentially be a good investment. However, I wanted to wait for earnings projections, hopefully market share statistics, and was also hoping to evaluate the product first-hand. On the positive side, this will be a HUGE market (that's why I want to gain expertise with web-enabling packages), and the description of Jacada's product sounds more sophisticated than some of its competition. I never dreamed that this thing would become hot so quickly. Just wanted to let those of you out there that there are many other companies with similar products. Rebuttals or enlightening information are always welcome.

P.S. I have been holding Checkpoint (CHKP) for 2.5 years (finally being rewarded!), and am always on the lookout for Israeli tech companies. |
