You have done yeoman work on this thread. I salute you. I think all your Deep Thought has caused you to get punchy on this one. Joni Mitchell was big in the early 70's. Where did she go? Where is her legacy? A brief list of women singers, songwriters, composers who had lasting influence: Mary Lou Williams, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline, Bessie Smith, Koko Taylor, Etta James, Kitty Wells. I could name more if I thought about it for a while. After you've rested, taken a drink and relaxed, I'm sure you'll see the folly of having only Joni Mitchell on your list.
