SI is like a resort hotel, albeit in a good part of town. They feature in one convention hall 'serious lecturers' which might attract one sort of guest, and in other halls they cater to the 'rock star' crowd and other entertainment venues in all the other convention halls.

The Country Club Owners: SI. are interested in keeping up their occupancy. They will enjoy this plethora of interesting personalities: some 'professor-like' types, some budding movie stars, others 'rock star' types that bring their own groupies, some serious businessmen out for a vacation from the rat race, others just got enough money together for one weekend away from the daily grind at the secretary pool, etc.

As long as the occupants stay in harmony, the Country Club Owners will happily go along their merry way with capacity occupancy. The occupants will have their choice of 'venue' whether it be serious talk or light entertainment, so what's hot for one is not necessarily hot for another.

Either way life goes on in this resort called SI and everyone is happy. You pay your dues and pick what you want much as you would on cable: Drama, Horror, Discovery Channel, Disney Channel, Learning Channel or CNBC.. such is the wide array of SI posters.
