No, it does not hurt. But, since I don't do pain, I took 4 Advil 1 hour before, then had novacaine. I read recently that porcelain is much more sensitive than the old mercury that was used before. Trust me, it is. I woke up in Florence one morning with a sharp pain in that tooth. Fled to the dentist on my return, but he found nothing out of the ordinary. Hurts more now. Bye bye to crowns, is all I will say.
