Rascal,

I agree with the concept of "open access". I believe that ATHM will do just fine when this becomes reality. I don't
believe it should be mandated by any "governing" body. Do you trust your elected officials to serve your best interests?

Cable companies will opt for open access on their own because it will make financial sense. Right now they are building out their networks and want some sense of a guarantee of a return. That guarantee will erode if they provide crappy service because you will call U. S. West and switch.

You want your elected officials to guarantee you good service? How about letting the market give you good service. Picture a household where broadband is available over cable, phone lines, electrical, satellite and through the plumbing. How much leverage are you gonna have over your choice then? I think you'll have more than if Sasquatch County Oregon has their way and begins reviewing how "fair" your choices are. Why don't you pick an office and I'll scare the hell out of you with a story.

Let me start. Let's pick the ones who should be educated...School Board. Yours is currently erasing evolution from the curriculum. Mine is demanding that teachers teach their students Ebonics. Your turn.

Let government officials determine your fate? You have big brass cajones (sorry for the gender specific response E. Graphs) buddy.
