I do not know if it is the moral of this story or not, but any mgmt
that puts in a poison-pill defense should be fired, for putting the
interest of their jobs ahead of that of the owners of the company.
One management person I talked to some years ago told me that if a
good offer came along, and he lost his job, that would be OK, since
he would have down the best job for the owners of the company (the
shareholders). Besides, only a stupid acquirer would get rid of an
excellent mgmt person (and as shareholders we don't want the poor ones
working for us).
