The only reason I can see driving someplace far away, like to TN from NJ, is because I might have on me a large bag of something I couldn't bring on the plane. I'm also tempted to say cash, but local grocery store owner Stew Leonard used to fly to Antigua with dufflebags full of cash.

Or, perhaps I had people I also needed to visit along the way.
