The Other Analyst,

<ahem!> I happen to know someone (not me; spouse of a Motorola employee) who actually jumped all over fifty or so shares of Iridium when Motorola first spun it off, despite the objections of yours truly and others...

I've already accepted her penance (via an "I told you so" lecture) and she has vowed to never again jump all over something based on wishful thinking and dreams. The unfortunate part of the story here is that these people really couldn't afford the loss. It was a very expensive lesson for her. FWIW, her husband wasn't very keen on the investment to begin with, but he acquiesced to her wishes. Guilt by association.
