DlphcOracl,
: I already have a full position in SEBL and was wondering: what would be your next one or two picks for companies in the enterprise software space?
I don't have any strong convictions, but I would seriously consider the following list for further research.
Supply Chain: i2 (despite my constant prognostications that the category will eventually be subsumed by ERP folks)
Online Purchasing: Ariba and Commerce One
Automated Marketing: Rubric (still private), Annuncio and MarketFirst
Mid-tier Front Office: Pivotal, Saleslogix, Onyx, Saratoga Systems
Internal Help-desk: Remedy
Knowledge (Document) Management: Open Text, DOCS, and a third one I can't think of at the moment
Middleware: CrossWorld (still private), Neon (I'm concerned that this catgory receieves too much competition from individual enterprise software makers producing their own middleware to make their product fully functional without the need for a thirf party.)
Internet Content Marketing (not truly an enterprise category, but close): Vertical Net, Vignette
Network, facilities, or asset management (or whatever we should call it!): Peregrine
Hope this helps. Do us all a favor. When you learn a lot about a particular category, fill us in.
