I've just been reading the posts being exchanged among you and JLA and Neo, with a few comments from others, and wondered if the series struck anyone besides me as extremely literary? I was strongly reminded of the prose of a writer of most peculiar novels, Ivy Compton Burnett. I am a fan of her work, which is sui generis in its strangeness. Many people to whom I have recommended her work find it tedious and unpleasant, but I find it gripping and beautifully written and strewn with brilliant apercus, though it is certainly dark.

I disagree with you about little, X, but I do about JLA and civility. I think it is a good idea, not a bad one, for him to have made such a resolution.
